Clark Wood are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded, client relationship focused, independent firm of chartered accountants based in the West End of Glasgow who are looking to add an experienced Mixed Tax Manager to their team. This position will see you forming an integral part of the firm’s tax offering, working closely with the Tax Director, and having responsibility for the management of an Assistant in the team.

The workload will be focused towards advisory and tax planning work (circa 70% of the role) over compliance. Working within this general practice you’ll be exposed to a range of clients looking for guidance across a variety of taxes – corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, VAT, employment tax, trusts, and dealing with share option schemes, company restructures, mergers / acquisitions / disposals / due diligence, as well as HMRC investigations and enquiries.

The compliance element of the role will see you reviewing the work completed by the Tax Assistant, providing guidance to them and playing an important role in their growth and development.

The ideal person for this role will be an all-round tax specialist with extensive and demonstrable experience and knowledge of tax advisory work. Someone CTA Qualified would be fantastic; however, sound working knowledge in a variety of taxes within a practice setting is the main requirement.
