Clark Wood is a specialist Recruitment Consultancy operating throughout the United Kingdom within the Public Practice Accountancy & Tax sectors. Our core client base consists of Accountancy Practices ranging from Big 4, Top 10 & Mid-Tier firms through to independent regional firms and sole traders.
This firm supports the SME market with a full service offering including Audit, Accounts & Advisory, Tax, Payroll, Corporate Finance and Business Recovery. With strong infrastructure, ambitious growth plans and a values-led culture, the firm provides an excellent platform for senior tax professionals looking to develop a strategic portfolio and play a key role in the long-term growth of the practice.
This is a rare opportunity offering a broad and interesting mixed tax advisory workload, working closely with the wider Partner group on complex planning matters. You will also take a key role in developing the team and driving business development activity.
Role Responsibilities- Acting as senior contact on a portfolio, managing client relationships and expectations
- Advising on complex mixed tax matters alongside the wider Partner group
- Delegating and reviewing technical work linked to reorganisations, share schemes, trusts, property transfers, corporate transactions, acquisitions and demergers
- Drafting technical responses to HMRC enquiries and managing risk within compliance work
- Team leadership including mentoring, appraisals, interviews and wider people management
- Identifying opportunities for special work across the portfolio and wider group
- Supporting business development and helping to win new clients
- CTA qualified
- Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation with demonstrable advisory experience
- Proven ability to deliver excellent client service at senior level
- Commercial, strategic and confident managing complex client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable managing risk and quality standards in tax work
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and relevant accounting/tax systems
