We’re working with a well-established and growing firm of chartered accountants in Cheltenham who are looking to recruit an Audit Senior / Experienced Accountant to join their friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified, nearly qualified, or QBE accountant with solid audit experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility and lead client assignments. You’ll take a hands‑on role across a mixed portfolio of clients, handling both audit and accounts work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading around 8 audits per year, usually on-site with one or two team members.
- Preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns for a range of clients.
- Taking a lead role with certain clients, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Assisting and developing junior team members while maintaining strong client relationships.
- You’ll have plenty of support from senior staff when needed, but we’re looking for someone confident enough to manage the basics independently — someone who can complete a set of accounts or lead an audit with minimal supervision.
About You
- ACA / ACCA qualified, nearly qualified, or QBE with relevant practice experience.
- Recent audit experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals.
- Confident communicator with a proactive, professional approach.
- Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
