The firm advises a broad range of clients, from owner‑managed businesses to large corporates and groups, and is known for combining strong technical expertise with a collaborative, people‑focused culture.
Due to continued growth in its Employer Services offering, the firm is seeking an Employment Tax Manager to join its Bristol team. This is a key role with responsibility for managing a varied employment tax client portfolio, delivering advisory and compliance services, and supporting the development of the firm’s employment tax practice across the region. The role offers excellent long‑term progression, with scope to move into a Senior Manager position and play a strategic role in growing the service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, providing employment tax advisory and compliance services.
- Advising on PAYE, NIC, benefits in kind, expenses, termination payments, and employment status matters.
- Reviewing and managing P11D processes and PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSAs).
- Supporting clients with HMRC reviews, employer compliance checks, and disclosures.
- Advising on share schemes, salary sacrifice, and remuneration planning.
- Working closely with audit, corporate tax, and payroll teams to provide joined‑up advice.
- Identifying advisory opportunities and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Coaching and developing junior members of the employment tax team.
Candidate Requirements
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, or ATT qualified (or qualified by experience with strong employment tax specialism).
- Proven experience in employment tax within UK accountancy practice or a specialist tax consultancy.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK employment tax legislation and HMRC practice.
