Audit Director - Worcestershire
£90,000 - £100,000 + Benefits
Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Audit Director to join a well-established and highly regarded accountancy firm in Worcestershire.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a Qualified Responsible Individual (RI) with a strong background in UK practice, looking to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit clients and play a key role in the continued development of the firm's audit offering.
As Audit Director, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, maintaining high standards of technical quality and client service.
The role will involve:
- Acting as a Qualified Responsible Individual (RI) on audit assignments
- Managing and overseeing a varied portfolio of audit clients
- Leading audits from planning through to completion
- Working with a diverse client base including groups, schools and academies, alongside other owner-managed and corporate businesses
- Reviewing audit files and financial statements
- Providing technical guidance across audit and accounting matters
- Ensuring compliance with relevant auditing, accounting and regulatory requirements
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted advisor
- Managing, mentoring and developing audit staff and managers
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the audit department
- Identifying opportunities for additional work and contributing to business development
- Working closely with Partners and other departments across the firm
About You
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified RI with significant experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
You will ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Current RI status
- Strong experience across all areas of audit and compliance
- Experience managing a varied portfolio including groups, schools and academies
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards
- Proven experience managing and developing a team
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- The ability to work at a senior level with both clients and internal teams
- A commercial approach and an interest in business development

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
