Clark Wood are currently working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants on the outskirts of Wakefield who are looking to add an experienced Accounts Senior to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional to join a well-established and friendly firm offering a supportive working environment, strong client exposure, and genuine long-term progression prospects.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients across a broad range of industries. Key duties will include:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Preparation of management accounts
- Corporate and personal tax compliance work
- VAT returns and bookkeeping review
- Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Assisting junior staff members and reviewing work where appropriate
- Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc projects and client queries
The firm is looking for an experienced practice professional who is confident managing client relationships and working independently. The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and general compliance work
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
