An ambitious and growing accountancy and advisory firm in London is looking for a Corporate Tax Senior or Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join its expanding tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate tax professional looking for broader advisory exposure, greater client responsibility and a clear route for progression within a modern, commercially focused practice.
You'll work with an impressive client portfolio spanning entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses through to larger UK companies and international groups, providing plenty of technical variety and exposure to increasingly complex corporate tax matters.
Corporate Tax Compliance & Advisory The position combines responsibility for managing corporate tax compliance with involvement in a broad range of advisory assignments.
- Depending on your experience, you'll have the opportunity to work across areas including:
- Corporate tax planning and advisory projects
- Group and international tax matters
- Transactions and restructuring assignments
- Complex corporate tax compliance
- HMRC enquiries and correspondence
- Tax technical research and planning
You'll work closely with senior members of the tax team while developing direct relationships with clients and colleagues across the wider firm.
Your Responsibilities As a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing the corporate tax compliance cycle for a varied portfolio
- Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
- Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
- Supporting Managers and Partners on corporate tax advisory assignments
- Identifying tax planning opportunities across your client portfolio
- Providing technical corporate tax support to clients and colleagues
- Liaising directly with clients, HMRC and other professional advisers
- Managing workflow, deadlines and client expectations
- Supporting and mentoring junior tax professionals
- Developing strong relationships across the firm's wider service lines
As your experience develops, you'll be encouraged to take greater ownership of client relationships and increasingly complex advisory work.
Who We're Looking For This opportunity would suit an experienced Corporate Tax Senior looking to step towards Assistant Manager level, or an existing Corporate Tax Assistant Manager seeking broader exposure and progression.
Ideally, you'll have
- Strong UK Corporate Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Experience across corporate tax compliance with some exposure to advisory work
- Confidence reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
- Around 4+ years' corporate tax experience
- CTA qualification, part-qualification or progression towards CTA
- Strong technical and commercial awareness
- Confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience supporting or reviewing the work of junior colleagues
- A proactive approach and desire to continue developing technically
Clients & Exposure The firm works with a broad and commercially interesting client base across multiple industries and jurisdictions.
