Clark Wood is working with a leading independent UK accountancy firm that is looking to recruit a

Corporate Tax Senior into its growing Bristol team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Corporate Tax professional who wants to move beyond a predominantly compliance-focused position and gain significantly greater exposure to advisory and project work .

You’ll work with a varied portfolio ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate groups, while gaining exposure to specialist areas including transactions, restructuring, share schemes, R&D tax relief and complex corporate tax matters .

The firm offers flexible hybrid working, excellent professional development and genuine opportunities to progress through to Assistant Manager and Manager level.

The Role

As a Corporate Tax Senior, your responsibilities will include

  • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for a varied portfolio of corporate clients
  • Managing compliance assignments through to completion
  • Supporting Managers and senior colleagues on complex corporate tax matters
  • Assisting with tax advisory projects including transactions, due diligence and corporate restructuring
  • Working on capital allowances and R&D tax relief claims
  • Developing experience across share schemes and other specialist corporate tax areas
  • Undertaking technical tax research
  • Liaising directly with clients, HMRC and other professional advisers
  • Working alongside audit colleagues on annual corporate tax assignments
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
  • The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience working within UK Corporate Tax
  • Experience gained within an accountancy practice
  • ATT, ACA and/or CTA qualifications, or be working towards qualification
  • Strong corporation tax compliance knowledge
  • An interest in developing greater tax advisory experience
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Experience using Alphatax would be advantageous but is not essential.
