An ambitious and growing accountancy and advisory firm in London is looking for a Corporate Tax Senior or Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join its expanding tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate tax professional looking for broader advisory exposure, greater client responsibility and a clear route for progression within a modern, commercially focused practice.

You’ll work with an impressive client portfolio spanning entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses through to larger UK companies and international groups, providing plenty of technical variety and exposure to increasingly complex corporate tax matters.

The position combines responsibility for managing corporate tax compliance with involvement in a broad range of advisory assignments. Depending on your experience, you'll have the opportunity to work across areas including:

  • Corporate tax planning and advisory projects
  • Group and international tax matters
  • Transactions and restructuring assignments
  • Complex corporate tax compliance
  • HMRC enquiries and correspondence
  • Tax technical research and planning

You’ll work closely with senior members of the tax team while developing direct relationships with clients and colleagues across the wider firm.

Your Responsibilities

As a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing the corporate tax compliance cycle for a varied portfolio
  • Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
  • Supporting Managers and Partners on corporate tax advisory assignments
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities across your client portfolio
  • Providing technical corporate tax support to clients and colleagues
  • Liaising directly with clients, HMRC and other professional advisers
  • Managing workflow, deadlines and client expectations
  • Supporting and mentoring junior tax professionals
  • Developing strong relationships across the firm's wider service lines

As your experience develops, you'll be encouraged to take greater ownership of client relationships and increasingly complex advisory work.

Who We're Looking For

This opportunity would suit an experienced Corporate Tax Senior looking to step towards Assistant Manager level, or an existing Corporate Tax Assistant Manager seeking broader exposure and progression. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Strong UK Corporate Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice
  • Experience across corporate tax compliance with some exposure to advisory work
  • Confidence reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Around 4+ years' corporate tax experience
  • CTA qualification, part-qualification or progression towards CTA
  • Strong technical and commercial awareness
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Experience supporting or reviewing the work of junior colleagues
  • A proactive approach and desire to continue developing technically

Clients Exposure

The firm works with a broad and commercially interesting client base across multiple industries and jurisdictions. You'll gain exposure to:

  • Owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses
  • Growing UK companies
  • International and multinational groups
  • Complex corporate structures
  • Cross-border tax matters

The breadth of the portfolio makes this particularly attractive for someone who wants to develop beyond routine corporate tax compliance and build stronger advisory experience.

Career Development

The tax team is continuing to grow, creating genuine opportunities for progression. You'll receive significant exposure to senior leadership and be encouraged to take responsibility based on your ability and experience rather than simply length of service. Whether you're currently a Corporate Tax Senior ready for the next step or already operating at Assistant Manager level, there is scope to develop towards Corporate Tax Manager and beyond.

Benefits Working Environment

The firm offers a modern, collaborative working environment alongside a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Private medical insurance
  • Competitive pension contribution
  • Additional leave over the December holiday period
  • Medical cashback scheme
  • Group life assurance
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Study support where applicable
  • Regular team socials and company events
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Interest-free travel / season ticket loan support
  • Nursery-related workplace benefits
  • Modern Central London offices

The Opportunity

This is an excellent Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager opportunity for someone who wants the technical quality and client exposure of a strong London tax practice without becoming lost within a very large team. You'll have the opportunity to develop your advisory experience, work directly with an impressive client base and build towards the next stage of your corporate tax career within a growing and supportive firm.
