An established and growing accountancy practice in Liskeard is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to strengthen its accounts team. This role would suit someone with solid practice experience who is keen to continue developing technically while gaining greater responsibility and client exposure.

You will work with a varied portfolio of SMEs, sole traders and limited companies, delivering high-quality compliance services and supporting senior staff on more complex work.

Main Duties
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Production of management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and basic tax returns
  • VAT return preparation and review
  • Bookkeeping using cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Maintaining accurate working papers and meeting compliance deadlines
  • Dealing directly with client queries via email, phone and meetings
  • Assisting with mentoring or reviewing work of junior staff where appropriate
  • Supporting managers and partners with ad-hoc assignments
Candidate Profile
  • At least 2+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice
  • AAT qualified or studying ACA / ACCA (or qualified by experience)
