Hybrid Working 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home Excellent Progression

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ACA or ACCA qualified Audit Assistant Manager to join the growing Audit team of a highly regarded and ambitious accountancy practice.

This role would be ideal for a recently qualified Audit Senior looking to make their first move into management, or an existing Assistant Manager looking for greater responsibility, stronger progression and exposure to a more varied client portfolio.

The Role

As Audit Assistant Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of audit clients and play a key role in managing assignments from initial planning through to completion.

You will work closely with Partners and Managers while taking responsibility for client relationships and the development of junior members of the team.

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients and acting as a key point of contact
  • Planning and overseeing audit assignments from start to completion
  • Managing audit teams and ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget
  • Reviewing audit files and more complex areas of audit work
  • Working on technical areas including consolidations and more challenging assignments
  • Leading audit planning and completion meetings with clients
  • Building strong relationships and providing a high-quality client experience
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients
  • Working closely with Partners and other specialist teams across the firm
  • Coaching and developing Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and Assistants
  • Providing regular feedback and technical guidance to junior colleagues
  • Monitoring workflow, budgets, billing and file completion
  • Supporting improvements to audit processes and efficiency
  • Getting involved in networking, business development and client presentations where appropriate

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with strong audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice. You will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Strong external audit experience within UK practice
  • Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Confidence reviewing audit work and supporting junior staff
  • Strong technical accounting and audit knowledge
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ambition to continue progressing towards Audit Manager and beyond
