Hybrid Working 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home Excellent Progression

A highly regarded and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an ACA or ACCA qualified Audit Senior to join its expanding Audit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior who wants greater responsibility, increased client exposure and a clear pathway towards Assistant Manager and beyond.

The Role As Audit Senior

You will take responsibility for leading audit assignments across a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with Managers and Partners while supervising and developing junior members of the team.

You will be involved throughout the entire audit process, from initial planning and fieldwork through to completion and Manager review.

Responsibilities will include

  • Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Arranging and leading audit planning meetings
  • Managing day-to-day audit fieldwork and team workflow
  • Delegating work effectively across audit teams
  • Supervising Audit Semi Seniors and Assistants
  • Reviewing junior team members' audit work
  • Preparing and completing key areas of audit files
  • Preparing completion sections including Going Concern and Key Audit Findings Reports
  • Identifying and researching technical audit issues
  • Escalating complex or higher-risk matters to Managers and senior colleagues
  • Clearing Manager and RI review points
  • Monitoring assignment progress against agreed budgets and deadlines
  • Keeping clients and internal stakeholders updated throughout assignments
  • Supporting the preparation of audit billing where required
  • Working with outsourced team members where appropriate
  • Ensuring audit files meet professional and internal quality standards
  • Client Responsibility

This role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to develop your relationship-management skills ahead of progression into management.

You will

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout audit fieldwork
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout the year
  • Attend audit review and completion meetings
  • Support Managers and Partners during client meetings
  • Coordinate stocktakes where required
  • Ensure client compliance requirements including AML, KYC and engagement documentation are maintained
  • Respond promptly to client queries and correspondence

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified with strong external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.

You will ideally have

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Strong UK external audit experience
  • Experience leading or supervising audit assignments
  • Experience working across the audit process from planning through to completion
  • Confidence supervising junior members of staff
  • Good technical audit and accounting knowledge
  • Strong client communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and assignments
  • Good organisational and commercial awareness
  • Ambition to progress towards Assistant Manager and beyond
  • Career Progression
