Clark & Rose (Removals) Ltd are currently seeking a removals driver to fill a full-time vacancy based at our Biggleswade depot. We are looking for applicants of good character, physically fit and smartly presented. Ideal candidates will need to be cheerful and hard working, with a full driving licence essential. Also required is a valid passport as some European moving will be involved from time to time.
Duties will include:
- Packing of our clients' household effects
- Loading and unloading of the vehicle
- Company paperwork including risk assessments
- General warehouse duties
Previous removals experience is preferable, but not essential, as full training will be provided. Pay varies depending on what level of driving licence you hold. Class 2 HGV is £16.52p/h or Class 1 is £17.72p/h and is for a guaranteed 45 hours per week Monday - Friday, with paid overtime and Saturday overtime paid at 1.5 x your standard rate.
Hours of work each day are varied according to work volumes and flexibility around start & finish times is essential as is the ability to be able to work away from home. Start times typically vary between 6am - 8am. There will also be nights away from home and travelling around the country.
Other benefits include a yearly performance bonus which is offered in the Spring each year and staff also have the option to join the company share scheme. Company sick pay, additional holiday, life insurance and private medical insurance are offered to all staff once they reach the qualifying period of employment.
