We are now looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team at our Carlisle facility.
The role
This role sits at the heart of our manufacturing operation. You will build, wire, test and inspect the electrical control panels, looms and sub-assemblies that power our specialist door systems. Your work will directly affect the safety, quality and reliability of our products, from the factory floor through to installation and commissioning on site. While primarily factory based, the role also supports site installation, commissioning and service activities when required.
What you will do
- You will build and wire electrical control panels and assemblies from schematics and technical drawings.
- You will produce wiring looms and cable assemblies to defined quality and safety standards and carry out electrical testing, fault finding and rectification.
- You will complete build, inspection and traceability documentation accurately and work closely with engineering, production and quality teams to meet project schedules.
- You will also support continuous improvement and help develop apprentices and less experienced colleagues.
What we are looking for
- You will be a time served electrical engineer from an industrial or manufacturing environment with a recognised electrical qualification such as an NVQ or BTEC and BS7671 18th Edition.
- You will have at least three yearsβ experience working with low voltage AC and DC control panels and electrical assemblies.
- You will be confident reading and working from electrical schematics and engineering drawings and able to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas is required.
- An ECS card and experience of installation, commissioning or service work would be an advantage.
