Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with five operating divisions: Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Maintenance, and Manufactured Joinery. We employ over 200 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland. We are now looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Coordinator to work within the HSEQ Department.
The role requires someone with construction or Quality Control experience in construction who fully understands project specifications and how they are transferred into the inspection and testing of works during the build process. This position is suitable for Site Managers, Supervisors, Construction QC specialists, or those carrying out Clerk of Works roles. The role involves visits to all projects/offices to ensure effective implementation of QA/IMS processes.
Role & Responsibilities- Review the QA process to identify gaps and ensure all documents link across main construction phase processes.
- Engage with the supply chain, especially high-risk suppliers, to explain and upskill them on our processes.
- Collaborate with project teams to clarify their roles within the QA process.
- Deliver training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review IT processes with the IT Working Group to simplify QA procedures.
- Develop specific QA knowledge on quality issues and advise Bid and Project Teams accordingly.
- Coordinate with the CM at CPP development to ensure the ITP Register is developed.
- Ensure QA is integrated into package discussions and project requirements are clear to suppliers.
- Attend pre-start meetings for high-risk packages.
- Assist project teams in reviewing S/C ITPs and improving their offerings.
- Monitor the implementation of QA inspections as per agreed schedules.
- Review submitted QA inspections for compliance.
- Ensure QA records are transferred to PIM regularly and properly stored at project completion.
- Oversee the snagging process and record-keeping.
- Audit and report on the QA process.
- Work with the HSEQ Manager to develop and maintain the company’s integrated management system.
- Outgoing, team-oriented, confident in working with multiple disciplines to drive improvements.
- Degree in quality management or proven construction management experience.
- Experience with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.
- Driving license and willingness to travel.
- Strong desire to improve quality standards.
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office and Visio, with ability to develop and deliver training.
- Experience within the construction industry is essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position covering all offices and projects of the company.
