We are hiring for a Business Development Associate - Life Science & Healthcare to join our Life Science Sales Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to help accelerate innovation for our customers and identify creative solutions to meet their Life Science needs.

The post holder will be responsible for initiating, managing, and retaining relationships with Life Sciences & Healthcare clients across defined European regions, with a strong focus on generating new business. This role will involve new business prospecting for small to medium-sized customers, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective and consistent digital communication.

The Business Development Associate will contribute to account planning and collaborate closely with internal teams to support customer needs. A solid understanding of Life Sciences business culture is key to shaping a successful sales strategy in the region.

  • Knowledge of the Life Sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of software/information solutions in the pharmaceutical sectors.
  • A commercial awareness and technical appreciation of the patent and scientific information industry.
  • Commercial acumen, with a proactive and creative approach to looking after the needs and concerns of customers.
  • Understanding (or the potential to develop an understanding) of the role of customer training as an integral part of the sales process.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both small and large groups and to handle questions in a commercially astute and sensitive manner.
  • Knowledge of SalesForce CRM.
  • Additional European language preferred.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Proactively reach out to small and medium-sized Life Sciences & Healthcare organisations to identify new business opportunities and introduce relevant product solutions.
  • Use digital sales channels (email, phone, video calls, webinars) to engage with prospective customers, build rapport, and understand their needs.
  • Present and promote Clarivate’s Life Sciences & Healthcare solutions to potential customers, focusing on product value and relevance to their business challenges.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to support sales plans and contribute to regional new business targets.
  • Use CRM tools and internal systems to manage activities, track progress, and support the sales process.
  • Stay informed about Clarivate’s Life Sciences & Healthcare products, with ongoing learning to support confident conversations with potential customers.

About the Team: You will be working as part of a team of 5 colleagues based in London who are a mix of Digital Acquisition Managers and sales development associates covering the European region within our Life Sciences and healthcare segment.

Hours of Work: This is a full-time permanent position based in London, UK and will require hybrid working in our Liverpool Street office (2-3 days per week in office, rest of week remote).
