Role Overview
The Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate statutory and management reporting across the Group. This includes ownership of elements of the Group consolidation, statutory accounts preparation, technical accounting support, and ongoing development of financial reporting processes. The role will work closely with divisional finance teams and external auditors, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the business through continued growth and change.
Key Responsibilities
- Statutory Reporting & Consolidation
- Assist with the preparation of Group single-entity and consolidated statutory accounts under FRS 101.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual Group consolidation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Produce statutory accounts for Group entities, ensuring high-quality and timely submissions.
- Accounting Policies & Technical Compliance
- Document, standardise, and implement accounting policies across the Group.
- Liaise with the three divisional finance teams to ensure consistency in policy application.
- Drive the adoption of new processes required due to updated standards or business changes.
- Provide technical accounting guidance, particularly in response to changes in IFRS or business structure.
- Audit & Governance
- Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Support the preparation of company secretarial documents to maintain compliance across the Group.
- Financial Reporting & Process Improvement
- Contribute to the improvement and development of Group financial reporting.
- Provide timely, accurate financial information to internal stakeholders.
- Support on a variety of ad-hoc and strategic projects as the Group continues its significant expansion.
Candidate Profile
- ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally with training in accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS; audit experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Group tax matters is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and statutory accounts preparation software is preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Advanced Excel capability with the ability to handle and analyse large data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build strong relationships across divisions and with external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing varied tasks in a fast-growing Group environment.
