The Credit Controller is a pivotal role to keep cash flowing and the company thriving. You’ll be the go-to expert for tracking outstanding balances, reducing aged debt, and building strong, trust‑based relationships with clients to ensure timely payments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments and identify overdue balances.
- Chase outstanding debts by proactively contacting customers via phone, email, or letter.
- Reconcile accounts by investigating and resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate allocation of payments.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications, payment arrangements, and account activity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams to support effective credit management.
Skills & Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English; A‑levels or further education desirable.
- Experience in customer service, finance, administration, or office‑based roles.
- Familiarity with accounting systems or Microsoft Excel is an advantage.
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills (written and verbal).
