Surfacd is the technology platform built and owned by Clarity, the Global Growth Consultancy for B2B technology brands. Backed by nearly two decades of integrated communications, search, and marketing expertise, Surfacd is built to turn that intelligence into a standalone product, and we're looking for a Founding Account Executive to lead its commercial launch.
About the role
Surfacd is looking for a Founding Account Executive to own our commercial engine from the ground up. This is a hybrid role: part prospector, part closer. You'll build and manage our outbound pipeline, handle inbound leads, run product demos, and convert opportunities into customers, working in close partnership with our founders and marketing team. This isn't a hand-off-to-someone-else role. You own the full sales cycle. As our inbound engine matures, the balance will shift, but right now we need someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, find the right people, and open doors. In return, you'll get real ownership, direct access to the founding team, and a front-row seat to building a go-to-market function from scratch.
What you'll do
- Outbound prospecting: Identify and engage decision-makers across marketing, SEO, communications, and growth functions, with cold calling at the core and email and LinkedIn in support. You find the right people and you get in front of them.
- Inbound lead management: Handle and qualify inbound enquiries with pace and precision, moving opportunities through the funnel without letting momentum drop.
- Full sales cycle ownership: Own deals from first contact through to close. Run the discovery, deliver the demo, handle the objections, and sign the business, with support from the founders on high-value opportunities where it adds weight.
- Pipeline and forecasting: Keep the CRM accurate and pipeline visibility tight. Know your numbers, know your deals, and know what's needed to hit target.
- Account expansion: Build your client portfolio with an eye on long-term value. Strong relationships and smart expansion are as important as new logo wins.
- AI-powered outreach: Use AI tools to research prospects, personalise messaging at scale, and continuously sharpen your approach, both in terms of efficiency and quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the founders and marketing team to refine targeting, messaging, and positioning based on what's resonating in market.
- Playbook development: Help shape and iterate on outbound and inbound sales playbooks. You're not just following a process, you're helping to build one.
- Product feedback loop: Feed demo and prospect insights back into product and marketing to sharpen positioning and inform the roadmap.
What we're looking for
- Proven B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally within marketing technology, SEO, digital, communications, or the AI vendor space.
- Comfortable owning the full sales cycle, from cold outreach through to demo and close.
- A natural on the phone who approaches cold calling as an opportunity rather than a chore.
- Strong communicator with the presence and confidence to hold senior-level conversations.
- Commercial instinct to qualify well, handle objections, and know when to push and when to walk.
- Genuine curiosity about AI and where the technology is heading, bonus if you already use AI tools day to day.
- Organised and disciplined about CRM hygiene, pipeline management, and activity tracking.
