The key purpose of the role is to be a travel expert, working on a variety of business travel accounts. The role involves booking, amending, and cancelling all UK, European and worldwide business travel requirements, whilst offering a high level of service. Within the remit of the role, you will process all aspects of business travel from flights, rail, hotels, and ancillary services, while always working within the client’s travel policy.
Responsibilities
- Process bookings, amendments, and cancellations within the service level agreement (SLA) through multiple contact channels and convert general enquiries into actual bookings using all tools and technology available.
- Obtain an accurate and comprehensive customer needs brief by using appropriate questioning techniques.
- Work to the client’s travel policy, finding the most appropriate options for the customer.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service is always offered to internal and external customers.
- Effectively resolve internal and external customer and supplier queries, escalating where appropriate.
- Complete all mandatory training as required by the business.
- Accurately process data to ensure compliance with GDPR & ISO standards.
- Stay up-to-date with travel trends and industry knowledge.
- Promote a professional image to all customers and suppliers.
- Be aware of team targets and overall team performance against targets.
- Maximise supplier income by actively promoting and selling through agreed preferred partners.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in Retail or Business Travel.
- Knowledge of the travel industry.
- Proven customer service experience.
- IT & computer literate with experience of email and web‑based programs & GDS skills (Galileo).
- The ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to understand our client’s needs and requirements.
- The ability to think logically and consider all relevant aspects with strong analytical skills.
- The ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives.
