The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is recognised as a leading centre of excellence for creative learning and vocational training within the performing arts and creative industries. We enjoy an international and national reputation for the quality of our teaching, our exceptional facilities, and our enviable track record of graduate employment and alumni successes.

We are looking to recruit a Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer (maternity cover) who will be part of a small team of staff working with schools and colleges to provide outreach and fair access activities, which raise awareness of, and aspirations to, Higher Education and encourage applications to LIPA.

The post-holder will lead on the planning, coordination, and evaluation of LIPA’s key post-16 widening participation initiatives, including our Get Set residential summer school, a portfolio of activities with targeted partner colleges, a pre-audition phone call initiative and regional pipeline activities. These activities proactively aim to raise awareness of and support progression to Higher Education for prospective students from backgrounds that are underrepresented at university level.

The post-holder will also deliver and support a range of wider recruitment activities with schools and colleges, community groups and select organisations across the UK (and occasionally overseas), promoting LIPA directly among audiences such as prospective students, parents/carers, teachers and higher education advisers.

You will be a graduate with previous experience of designing, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating activities, as well as working with groups of young people. You will have excellent project management and organisational skills, strong written communication and presentational skills and be confident in dealing with a range of people. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player with the capacity to be flexible and think on your feet. Knowledge and experience of secondary education and/or Higher Education would be beneficial.

In return we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, pensions, generous holiday entitlements, and complimentary tickets to our in-house productions.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start in April/May 2026. This appointment will be subject to a DBS check.

Closing date for applications: Friday 27th February 2026 at 12 noon.

Interview: Wednesday 18th March 2026.

CVs will not be accepted. Should you have any questions about the application process or require reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact our Recruitment Team on 0151 330 3091.

As part of our Strategic Plan for 2023-2026 we are seeking to increase the diversity within our community and would particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, people with disabilities and those identifying as female, non-binary or transgender.
