Role
We’re looking for a Tax Manager to take ownership of tax across Portman Travel Group. This hands‑on role covers UK tax compliance, advisory work, and collaboration with Finance and external advisers to ensure timely, efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all UK corporation tax and VAT compliance across the Group
- Prepare and review tax computations, returns, and related disclosures
- Act as main point of contact for HMRC and external tax advisers
- Advising on VAT treatment across complex travel products and services
- Support audits, statutory accounts, and year‑end processes
- Identify tax risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Contribute to tax planning and efficiency projects where appropriate
- Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and advise the business on impact
Qualifications
- Qualified tax professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong UK tax background with exposure to VAT‑heavy or multi‑entity businesses
- Comfortable working both strategically and hands‑on
- Able to explain tax clearly to non‑tax stakeholders
- Well organised, detail‑focused and confident managing deadlines
- Experience in travel, services or a fast‑moving commercial environment is a bonus
