We are looking for a Banking and Finance lawyer to help us continue to grow our Banking and Finance practice which is led by three talented and experienced partners.

Here is a snapshot of what you can expect to work across on a day-to-day basis:

  • Working for banks, financial institutions, lenders, asset-based lenders and borrowers
  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements including LMA based templates
  • Drafting and negotiating intercreditor and other ranking agreements
  • Ensuring and/or supervising satisfaction of condition precedents to facility agreements to allow for drawdown when acting for either the lender or borrower
  • Assisting our award-winning Corporate and Real Estate departments in respect of corporate acquisitions, property acquisitions and/or development funding
  • Working for a broad mix of clients from FTSE 100 companies to international entities based in Europe and the USA
  • Building and supporting client relationships, with an active role to play in business development and the ability to build your and the team’s own client base

What we are looking for:

  • You will need at least 3 years’ PQE as a Banking and Finance lawyer and the following attributes to be able to succeed in this position:
  • Experience of real estate finance and/or leveraged finance
  • Experience of LMA documentation (though not necessarily the drafting of facility agreements and/or intercreditor deeds)
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Thoroughness in all aspects of work, and great care and attention to detail
  • Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, to manage priorities effectively and to work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Good organisational and analytical skills, and logical thinking
  • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated, with strong sense of initiative
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients

To enjoy working at Clarion and thrive in the firm you will need to be motivated, a team player, commercially minded, calm under pressure and be able to work equally well autonomously and collaboratively. The role is based in Leeds with the ability to work from home 2-3 days per week.

Our award-winning Banking and Finance team is one of the strongest and fastest growing banking and finance teams in the UK. On average, each year, they facilitate loans in excess of £1 billion acting on both the lender and borrower sides of transactions. They have a sophisticated and experienced team that deals with facilities ranging up to £100,000,000 involving complex and multi-jurisdictional structures.

Clarion has a great reputation as an employer of choice and our culture is vital to our ongoing success. We genuinely care for our employees and hire only the best talent (good people with outstanding technical skills). In exchange for your efforts you can expect:

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and your birthday off (with the option to buy or sell holiday)
  • Reward Scheme

  • Generous ‘family friendly leave’
  • An array of wellness benefits (including onsite yoga/pilates and mental health programmes)
  • A wide range of additional benefits such as Vivup, reduced travel/parking charges and a cycle to work schemes with fully secure bike storage on-site

As a valued member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to join a number of clubs and committees that reflect your passions and interests, both in and out of work, whilst making friendships that last for life.
