If you're competent with Git, Azure DevOps Pipelines, have a solid understanding of Azure integration services and experience testing integration solutions, then this could be the opportunity for you!

We're looking for a Test Automation and Release Engineer, competent with JavaScript, C# and .NET to design, build, and maintain automated test suites that validate our integration solutions, maximising test coverage for the most critical data flows and processes across our enterprise systems landscape.

With a particular focus on Azure integration services such as Function Apps, and Service Bus, you'll create and manage automation environments for both unit testing of individual integration components and System Integration Testing (SIT) of end-to-end integration flows.

Using appropriate automation tools and frameworks to design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions, you'll automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code, ensuring that integration solutions are reliable, resilient, and performant before they reach production.

You'll also manage releases between environments, supporting the safe and seamless delivery of integration changes.

Experience in testing integration solutions involving APIs (REST, SOAP), message queues, and event-driven architectures is vital.

How to prepare for a job interview at Clarion Housing

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Clarion Housing uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
