Kick start your career in Construction Delivery with a one-year placement at Latimer by Clarion Housing Group. As part of this programme, you will join the Construction Delivery Team, where you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience and develop the skills needed to become a confident, well-rounded construction professional. Designed to support your growth, this structured placement combines practical experience with tailored training, helping you build both your technical knowledge and personal capabilities.
You’ll become an integral part of the team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality new homes while learning how a leading Development organisation operates. Throughout the year, you’ll be supported by a competency framework and a development programme, giving you the tools to track your progress and continue building your professional skillset. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn and network with our current cohort of Latimer graduates, exploring key topics such as change management, strategic thinking, and leadership. This placement will give you a strong foundation in the industry and, if you are studying a relevant degree, can also contribute towards your Assessment of Professional Competence experience.
In this placement, you’ll report to your Construction Delivery Line Manager and play an active role in supporting the delivery of multiple projects across the current development programme and future pipeline. With guidance from senior colleagues, you’ll build your commercial and project delivery skills while becoming an integral part of the Development Delivery Team, contributing to key objectives around safety, quality, construction planning, and customer focus.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Development Department, wider directorate, commercial teams, and housing association, developing a collaborative, “out of silo” approach to delivering projects. As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll use tools such as Pamwin and other appraisal software to monitor financial performance, support the effective management of projects in line with business objectives, and help ensure costs, income, funding, programme, and quality requirements are accurately maintained.
You’ll also assist in preparing project briefs, working alongside commercial and technical teams to appoint architects and external consultants, and reviewing proposals to ensure they meet internal policies and wider business goals. Throughout your placement, you’ll contribute to maintaining a strong customer focus, supporting the team in delivering high-quality homes and achieving a 5-star standard for customer service.
You’ll be currently studying towards a Construction Management or related degree and on track to achieve a minimum 2:1. We’re looking for a motivated and self-driven individual with a strong academic track record and a clear commitment to applying themselves. As an ambitious team player, you’ll be confident using your initiative to support both your own development and the success of the wider team. You’ll bring enthusiasm, a proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for making a difference, contributing to the work of the Development team and supporting the delivery of new homes as part of Clarion’s ambitious growth plans.
