The Opportunity

We are looking for a commercially minded, data-driven Marketing Operations Manager (maternity cover) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys taking initiative, solving data challenges, and delivering impactful insights. Partnering closely with, and managing the Marketing Operations Executive, you will take ownership of our marketing data ecosystem. You will play a critical role in analysing, reporting key metrics across sales and customer journeys, and sharing insights to help the business make data‑informed decisions, drive performance and scalable growth.

You will work across four divisions: Retail, Imago, Enthusiast, and Payments, gaining experience in both trade and consumer events, while contributing to some of the UK’s most exciting brands, including Top Drawer, The Destinations Show, Spirit of Christmas, Classic Motor Show, DTX Events, UCX Events, Transport Ticketing Global and many more. You will be joining an ambitious team, with an ethos of building success through collaboration internally and externally. Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy & Audience Targeting: Develop and refine audience segmentation strategies to optimise campaign performance and event engagement. Oversee the creation and enhancement of audience segments used for targeting, personalisation, and lifecycle campaigns.
  • Data Management: Ensure all data entry points support accurate reporting, attribution, and segmentation in line with the established taxonomy and data protocols. Oversee ongoing data hygiene efforts and establish best practices for data management efficiency. Liaise with the Data team to connect and align data fields across platforms, ensuring optimal usage of data in campaigns and reporting.
  • Tracking & Attribution: Guide campaign managers in establishing reliable conversion tracking throughout the lead lifecycle. Own the end‑to‑end tracking strategy, ensuring GTM, OneTrust, and GA4 implementations are robust, accurate, and scalable. Supervise the configuration, testing, and deployment of GTM containers, GA4 events, and privacy‑compliant tagging structures. Enforce consistent tagging practices for marketing teams and external partners, following the company’s UTM framework.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Aligns with business objectives and KPIs to optimise the marketing measurement roadmap and support organisation goals. Deliver and maintain interactive PowerBI dashboards covering event performance, customer behaviour, database health, and Google Analytics channel performance. Run bi‑weekly sessions with the Marketing team to report on KPI tracking, data trends, key actionable insights, and strategic recommendations based on targets. Lead post‑event analysis reports and present findings to key stakeholders. Drive web optimisation by analysing customer behaviour and trends using tools such as Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity.
  • Data Privacy: Ensure marketing practices comply with relevant regulations, including GDPR, and maintain adherence to the latest guidance. Implement new data privacy policies and regulations as required. Liaise with the Group Privacy Manager to establish best practices in data capture.
  • People Management: Manage the workload and development of the Senior Marketing Operations Executive. Provide regular feedback through 1-to-1 meetings. Report and collaborate with the EMEA Head of Marketing Operations to align best practices, adopt new technologies, and leverage cross‑sector benchmarking.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing automation and CRM technology (Pardot, Salesforce desired).
  • Proficiency in marketing and reporting platforms (GA4, Salesforce, Power BI desired).
  • Experience in operational benchmarking and metrics including acquisition rates, conversion rates, database growth, lead nurture, engagement, MQL/SQL.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in deliverables.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills - able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate complexity into simplicity.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
  • Proven ability to learn new tools and software quickly and independently.
  • Insight obsessed - driven to understand 'why' and takes the initiative to identify trends and gaps that others may look past to uncover new routes to success.
