We exclusively represent a globally renowned manufacturer of complex capital equipment found within airport environments, associated with material handling. Due to a retirement, they seek an experienced engineering leader who will be responsible for research and development activities through to production/manufacturing engineering for existing development purposes. The position is suited to a candidate with an understanding and appreciation of controls engineering, combined with having an electrical or mechanical, or electromechanical engineering background. The business manufactures complex equipment, meaning the successful candidate will need to come from a complex engineering environment with appropriate experience in interlinking with multiple departments.
A summary of the responsibilities is below:
- Leading a multi-disciplined team comprised of permanent and contingent workers, split predominantly into: Engineers in electrical, mechanical, controls and software design; and Manufacturing/Assembly staff across fabrication, electrical and mechanical assembly.
- Ensuring that the project scope, deliverables, costs, risks, and schedule are understood and adhered to, including robust change and document management.
- Ensuring that processes and procedures remain up to date with changing requirements.
- Developing and reporting on metrics to measure the performance of the Engineering and Production Departments.
- Supporting sales/project engineering/commissioning & testing related to new product introduction.
- Involvement with tenders and tender reviews.
