Our client, a well-established international manufacturing company, is currently recruiting an experienced and proactive Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to assist the Finance team, support each other, and help maintain a good relationship with customers and clients. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Processing invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders.
- Maintaining Goods-in record sheets.
- Maintaining price lists, checking order and invoice prices against lists.
- Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details within the purchase ledger.
- Auditing orders raised and training Purchasers on the use of Sage.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Maintaining account analysis and assisting in the preparation of purchase summaries.
- Processing business expense returns.
- Cashbook cash cheques and daily bank reconciliations.
- Running suggested payment runs and seeking payment authorisation, creating system BACS payments and preparing cheques.
- Raising supplier debit notes - charges against suppliers for rejections etc.
- Covering and supporting other finance/admin roles as required.
As a successful candidate, you will have a proven background/knowledge within an accounts/bookkeeping role. You will operate autonomously with the ability to work to monthly deadlines while retaining a high attention to detail. A good working knowledge of software packages, i.e. Excel, Sage, and XERO would be highly desirable.
