Clarendon Specialty Fasteners knows that our employees are our greatest strength. The HR Administrator Apprentice will support the People & Culture team in delivering an excellent employee experience across the full HR lifecycle. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced HR environment, supporting key processes such as recruitment, onboarding, people data management, training coordination and general HR administration. The apprentice will learn how to work confidently with HR systems, maintain accurate records, uphold compliance, and provide high-quality support to employees and managers. They will be supported to develop their HR knowledge as part of their apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment support: Assist with drafting and posting job adverts, schedule interviews and communicate with candidates, support CV screening and initial shortlisting, maintain up-to-date recruitment records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), produce recruitment metrics and reports.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Support pre-employment checks (references, right-to-work documentation), prepare induction materials and schedules, assist line managers with creating welcome packs and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience, support exit processes including scheduling exit interviews.
  • People data, records and policies: Input and maintain data in the HR Information System (HRIS), maintain accurate digital records and support a paperless department, support the production and filing of employment documents, ensure data accuracy and produce HRIS reports.
  • Learning and Development: Assist in coordinating training sessions and workshops, maintain training attendance records and update training matrices, monitor compliance-related training deadlines, liaise with external training providers, administer user profiles in the Learning Management System (LMS), send timely reminders for employees to complete their e-learning.
  • Performance: Support tracking of the performance review cycle, ensure documents are completed and filed correctly.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Support the administration of employee benefits, assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date benefit records.
  • Employee Support & HR Queries: Provide basic support on simple HR policy queries, escalate any queries that fall outside basic guidance to the appropriate member of the People & Culture team, maintain a professional, calm, and confidential approach when supporting employees.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a professional way.
  • Basic IT & digital skills and a willingness to develop proficiency in HR systems.
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and personable approach.
  • Determination to provide a best-in-class HR function.
  • Driving licence, or the intention to learn, would be advantageous but not essential.
