ABOUT THE ROLE: Clarendon Home Care is looking for caring, reliable people to join our team as Home Care Assistants. Based in Kingston upon Thames, we have been providing home care to elderly and vulnerable adults across the local area since 1994. You will visit clients in their own homes, supporting them with personal care, medication prompting, meal preparation and companionship. Rounds are local – within a few miles of where you live – and you will visit the same clients regularly, building genuine relationships over time. We have morning shifts (7am–2pm) and evening shifts (4pm–10pm) available. Whether you prefer mornings or evenings, we will work with you to find a pattern that suits. We are a small, independently run agency – not a national franchise – and we offer consistent hours and a supportive team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing personal care including washing, dressing and grooming
  • Prompting and administering medication in line with care plans
  • Preparing meals and supporting clients with eating and drinking
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Supporting clients to maintain their independence at home
  • Completing accurate records of each visit using our care management system
  • Communicating any concerns to the office team promptly

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom – applicants must hold a UK or Irish passport, a biometric residence permit confirming indefinite leave to remain or settled status, or pre‑settled status with valid proof of right to work. Applications that do not meet this requirement cannot be considered.
  • A caring, patient and reliable nature
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time
  • Availability for morning or evening shifts and every second weekend

DESIRABLE:

  • Previous experience in a care, NHS, support worker or similar role
  • Knowledge of the Kingston and Molesey area
  • Previous experience is welcome but not essential. Full training is provided.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • £12.71 per hour, rising to £12.91 for senior Home Care Assistants
  • Travel allowance paid between calls
  • Full induction training and ongoing development
  • DBS check funded by Clarendon Home Care
  • Consistent local rounds – no excessive travel
  • Morning or evening shifts to suit your availability
  • A supportive, experienced office team available throughout working hours
  • A stable, long‑established local employer with over 30 years in the area

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: All new Home Care Assistants complete a full induction programme before working independently. Ongoing training is provided throughout employment, including mandatory refresher training and any specialist training required for individual client needs.

REGULATORY INFORMATION: Clarendon Home Care Ltd is an equal opportunities employer. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and two references.
