Our client is a highly regarded and progressive SME supplying the construction sector. With a strong reputation in its market and ambitious growth plans, the business is now seeking to appoint a Financial Controller in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position has been created to bring the finance function in-house from a previous group shared services environment.
It offers a rare opportunity to play a leading role in establishing a modern, commercially focused finance function from the ground up, with a clear mandate to improve reporting, controls and business performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Full ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Leading the development of live financial reporting through Microsoft Business Central.
- Implementation of meaningful Power BI dashboards and KPI metrics across the business.
- Taking a lead in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and cashflow management, providing clear analysis and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team.
- Focusing on cost control, margin improvement, and driving commercial insight across operations.
We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on and forward-thinking finance professional with experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong technical management accounting expertise, alongside experience of ERP systems, finance transformation, and reporting improvement.
