Simon Community, Northern Ireland's leading homelessness charity, is seeking to appoint a Director of Finance & Business Support to join the senior leadership team. Established in 1971, the organisation employs 360 staff and delivers prevention services, temporary accommodation, and long-term housing solutions across more than 20 locations, working towards a clear mission: to end homelessness. The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance & Business Support will provide strategic leadership across the organisation's core enabling functions, including Finance, ICT & Digital, Governance, Risk, Procurement and Business Support. This pivotal role will ensure the organisation remains financially secure, digitally confident and operationally resilient, enabling teams to deliver high-impact frontline services and long-term change. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the postholder will shape future strategy, lead multi-disciplinary teams and drive organisational improvement to support delivery of the five-year strategic plan, Doing things differently.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Full current membership of a CCAB-recognised accountancy body.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a senior finance and/or business support role, reporting to a Chief Executive or Board, with overall responsibility for Finance, IT, Risk, Governance, in a comparable organisation (£5m turnover and/or 200 staff).
  • A track record of strategic financial leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, scenario planning and investment appraisal.
  • Experience of leading organisational improvement, digital or business transformation, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, statutory compliance, business continuity, and risk frameworks.
  • An ability to engage, influence and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
