This role has strategic and operational responsibility for the Council's planning functions. This will include providing professional leadership on all aspects of development management, planning enforcement, local development plan process and related statutory processes, ensuring compliance with the legislative and policy framework for planning in Northern Ireland.

The assigned portfolio of functions may vary from time to time and currently these include:

  • Building Control and Licensing
  • Planning
  • Shared Environmental Services
  • Licensing
  • Sustainability and environmental
  • Water quality

Those who do not hold relevant corporate membership/qualification of a professional planning body such as RTPI or IPI must attain this within 12 months of appointment.
