Our client is a major international group and a global leader in drinks dispensing solutions, with manufacturing and supply operations across multiple markets. As the organisation continues to grow, it is strengthening its global procurement capability and moving towards a more centralised, strategic approach to sourcing. This is an important opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to help shape that evolution, drive commercial value and support the development of a more integrated global procurement function.
Reporting to the Global Procurement Director, the Senior Global Sourcing Category Manager will lead assigned global categories and strategic sourcing projects across significant spend portfolios. The role will cover the full sourcing lifecycle: identifying opportunities, developing category strategies, selecting suppliers, negotiating and contracting, implementation, and ongoing performance management.
Working in a highly data-driven environment, the postholder will use spend, market, cost and supplier data to identify opportunities and deliver measurable improvements in total cost, supply continuity, quality, delivery, compliance, innovation and supplier performance. They will also work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration.
The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or category management, gained in an industrial environment. Experience in an international, multi-site organisation and responsibility for sizeable, complex spend portfolios would be an advantage. Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn insight into commercial action.
The role offers significant scope to shape global procurement strategy, deliver savings and cost avoidance across annual spend of around £200 million, strengthen supplier performance and contribute to the development of a more integrated global procurement function.
The role involves reasonable domestic and international travel for supplier and site visits and offers the opportunity to join an international organisation at an important stage in its growth journey.
