At St Johns Nursing Home, we’re looking for a warm, creative and enthusiastic Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator who can bring energy, ideas and meaningful moments into the everyday lives of our residents.

Your role
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Contracted hours: 30 hours per week
Location: St Johns Street, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B61 8QT
What will I be doing?
This isn’t about filling a calendar with activities.
You’ll spend time getting to know the people who live at St Johns – who they are, the lives they have lived, what they enjoy and what really matters to them.
You’ll then use that knowledge to create opportunities that support residents’ wellbeing, independence, relationships and sense of purpose.
Your role will include:
- Planning a varied and engaging wellbeing programme
- Spending meaningful one-to-one time with residents
- Supporting residents to continue hobbies and interests they have always enjoyed
- Organising entertainment, celebrations, themed events and special occasions
- Arranging trips and opportunities to enjoy the local community
- Encouraging gentle exercise, movement and outdoor activities
- Creating activities suitable for people living with dementia
- Supporting residents who prefer quieter or individual activities
- Building relationships with families, schools, churches and community groups
- Finding out about residents’ life stories, interests and personal goals
- Encouraging families and colleagues to become involved
- Bringing new ideas to the home and being confident enough to try them
- Capturing and celebrating the wonderful moments happening within the home
One day you might be organising live entertainment, another you could be gardening with a resident, helping someone video call their family, running a quiz, arranging a trip out or simply sitting together looking through old photographs.
No two days need to look the same.
Who are we looking for?
We’re much more interested in who you are as a person than having the perfect CV.
You might already work in activities or wellbeing within a care home – but you might also come from hospitality, childcare, events, entertainment, community work, education or another people-focused role.
You could be perfect for this role if you are:
- Naturally warm, friendly and approachable
- Creative and full of ideas
- Confident starting conversations and building relationships
- Organised and able to turn ideas into reality
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Patient and understanding
- Passionate about supporting older people
- Willing to get involved and have fun
- Someone who notices the individual, not just the task
- Experience working with older people or people living with dementia would be an advantage, but the right personality, values and attitude are just as important to us.
