Chandos Lodge Care Home is looking for a Chef/Cook to join our friendly and dedicated team who share our company values and commitment to our residents that call Chandos Lodge 'Home'.

Contracted Hours: 38.5 hours (Alternate Weekends)

Working Hours: 7am-6pm

Little things can make a big difference to our residents, so home baked cakes and biscuits are cooked every day, and wherever possible all desserts are cooked in the home.

Experience in healthcare is not essential but is preferred; training will be given.

As a Chef, some of your daily duties will be:

  • To provide wholesome, nutritious meals for our residents following a four weekly rotating menu.
  • Cater for special dietary requirements, such as modified texture meals following the IDDSI framework, religious preferences, fortification, diabetes, and other needs.
  • All temperature records are kept up to date along with cleaning rotas and all food safety requirements.
  • Minimise waste and adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
  • Supervise kitchen assistants, order stock/manage kitchen.
  • Ensure that the kitchen area is always kept clean and tidy.

We will support you in every step of your duties by providing ongoing training and career development.

We ask that you have experience in a similar environment, hold a food hygiene certificate (Level 2 & above or similar), have understanding of Safer Foods Better Business, have experience of varying dietary requirements, show empathy towards our elderly residents and want to progress your career within this rewarding environment.
