Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring science lessons across KS3 and GCSE.
  • Encourage pupils to develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts and real‑world applications.
  • Plan and deliver creative lessons that cater for students of varying abilities.
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively.
  • Differentiate learning to ensure every pupil can achieve their full potential.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement.
  • Support students in their preparation for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Contribute positively to the ongoing success of the Science department.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching science within a secondary school setting.
  • Possesses strong subject knowledge across KS3 and GCSE science.
  • Delivers engaging lessons that motivate and challenge students.
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Is committed to raising standards and improving outcomes for all learners.
  • Works effectively within a collaborative department team.
