Media Studies Teacher Location: Rugby, Warwickshire Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Media Studies Teacher to join a dynamic and forward‑thinking secondary school in Rugby. The successful candidate will be passionate about media, film, and digital culture, and committed to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will play a key role in developing students' analytical, creative, and technical skills, preparing them for further education and careers within the media and creative industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Media Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS4 and KS5, including GCSE and A‑Level Media Studies
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Support students in developing both theoretical understanding and practical media production skills
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities (e.g. film clubs, media projects)
  • Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental success

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Media Studies, Film, Communications, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Media Studies at secondary level (KS4/KS5 preferred)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for media and digital culture
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
