Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that engage and challenge students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Inspire creativity, innovation and practical skills through a broad and exciting curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that cater for pupils of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Promote excellent standards of behaviour, achievement and classroom engagement.
  • Monitor, assess and support student progress through effective feedback and assessment strategies.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department through extracurricular activities, STEM projects and enrichment opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
  • Be confident teaching both practical and theory-based aspects of the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Have a genuine passion for design, engineering, manufacturing and innovation.
  • Be committed to raising standards and ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team.
