Teacher of Business Studies Location: Rugby Salary: £179 -£255 a day Contract Type: Maternity Cover Start Date: Immediate Start Available We are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Teacher of Business Studies to join a well-established secondary school in Rugby. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons that engage, challenge, and motivate learners. Support students in developing commercial awareness and a strong understanding of contemporary business practices. Plan and prepare lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities. Monitor student progress through effective assessment, feedback, and intervention strategies. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes achievement and participation. Contribute to curriculum planning and the continued development of departmental resources. Maintain high standards of behaviour, professionalism, and academic expectations. Prepare students for examinations and support them in achieving their academic goals. Take an active role in enrichment activities, enterprise projects, and wider school initiatives. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders where appropriate. Participate fully in departmental meetings, training opportunities, and school events. Candidate Requirements To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related subject area. Previous experience teaching Business Studies within a secondary school environment. The ability to teach GCSE Business Studies, with A-Level teaching experience being advantageous. Strong subject expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for business education. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Experience using assessment data to track performance and improve outcomes. A commitment to raising standards and supporting student success. A collaborative approach to working within a department and wider school community. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
