Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Drama lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities. Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback and interventions where necessary. Contribute to the development and implementation of schemes of work and departmental resources. Organise and support school productions, performances, and extracurricular drama activities. Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning. Maintain effective classroom management and uphold the school's behaviour policies. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies when required. Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including meetings, parents' evenings, and professional development opportunities. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related subject. Experience teaching Drama within a secondary school setting. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the performing arts. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes for all students.
