This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated teacher to join a well-established department where practical learning, innovation and student achievement are highly valued. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
Whether your specialism lies in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering or a related subject area, this role offers the chance to inspire young people to develop the practical, technical and problem-solving skills needed for future success.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that engage and challenge students across KS3 and KS4.
- Inspire creativity, innovation and practical skills through a broad and exciting curriculum.
- Plan and deliver lessons that cater for pupils of varying abilities and learning styles.
- Promote excellent standards of behaviour, achievement and classroom engagement.
- Monitor, assess and support student progress through effective feedback and assessment strategies.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department through extracurricular activities, STEM projects and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Be confident teaching both practical and theory-based aspects of the curriculum.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Have a genuine passion for design, engineering, manufacturing and innovation.
- Be committed to raising standards and ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team.
