Kitchen Assistant

Clarence Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly and welcoming school in Leicestershire for a dedicated and reliable DBS qualified Kitchen Assistant to join their catering team.
About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen. You'll help ensure that pupils and staff receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and well-organised environment. The ideal candidate will work during term-time and 3-4 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals.
- Support the catering team with general kitchen duties.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Wash utensils, crockery, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with stock management and the receipt of deliveries.
- Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Provide a friendly and professional service to both pupils and staff.
About You
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently when required.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Experienced in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, or similar environment.
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene and health and safety standards.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment and maintaining high standards.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within a school or educational setting.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
