The Role

As an ICT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence in technology, problem-solving, and digital creativity.

You will work closely with a supportive department to deliver a broad and engaging curriculum covering areas such as:

  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Programming and Coding
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Representation
  • Digital Media
  • Spreadsheets and Databases
  • Networks and Systems
  • E-Safety and Online Awareness

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ICT and Computing lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate learning activities to support students of varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes achievement and engagement.
  • Develop students' practical ICT skills alongside theoretical understanding.
  • Monitor and track student attainment and implement intervention strategies where required.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, department development, and educational initiatives.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations of student conduct.
  • Participate in parents' evenings, staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE and other relevant examinations.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in ICT, Computer Science, Computing, or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for technology education.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
