About Godmanchester Preschool
Godmanchester Preschool is a small, close-knit setting based in St Mary's Church Hall in Godmanchester, with its own garden and access to the vicarage grounds.
We care for children aged 3 to 5, with places for up to 40 children and a team of six dedicated staff.
The preschool was rated Good by Ofsted at its last inspection, and is known locally for its warm, community feel and smooth transition from preschool into local primary schools.
What are we looking for
We're looking for a highly skilled Nursery Manager to lead our Godmanchester Preschool team.
You'll work closely with our Operations Manager and central admin team, who provide day-to-day support so you can focus on your setting and your staff.
As Nursery Manager, you'll provide professional leadership to a small team, manage the day-to-day running of the preschool, and ensure the highest standards of care, education and compliance — in a setting small enough that you'll know every family personally.
You will be working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday all year round, and your rate of pay will be £32,000 - £33,280, depending on experience.

You need
- A full and relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification, held for at least 3 years
- Previous experience in a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager role, ready to take the next step
- Minimum of 4 years of occupational experience in a nursery setting
- A proactive, can-do attitude with strong organisational and delegation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional childcare

- Achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
- Lead and manage the staff team, including recruitment, retention, training and day-to-day support
- Ensure all policies, procedures and curricula are implemented and adhered to
- Manage budgets and occupancy levels
- Build strong relationships with parents through an effective parent liaison programme
