Clarence House Day Nurseries is a well-established group of 15 nurseries and preschools across East Anglia and the East Midlands. About Godmanchester Preschool Godmanchester Preschool is a small, close-knit setting based in St Mary's Church Hall in Godmanchester, with its own garden and access to the vicarage grounds. We care for children aged 3 to 5, with places for up to 40 children and a team of six dedicated staff. The preschool was rated Good by Ofsted at its last inspection, and is known locally for its warm, community feel and smooth transition from preschool into local primary schools.
What are we looking for
We're looking for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our Godmanchester Preschool team, supporting the Preschool Manager and helping lead our staff to deliver outstanding care.
You will be working 40 hours a week with a salary from Β£13.75 per hour.
We're looking for someone self-motivated, passionate and a team player, with a genuine desire to care for children in a safe and stimulating environment. You'll also need:
- A Level 3 or equivalent Early Years Childcare/Nursery Nurse qualification
- A minimum of 2 years' work experience after qualifying
- A good understanding of the latest EYFS framework
- A good understanding of nursery safeguarding policies and procedures
- The confidence to work with parents and encourage their involvement
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to continue professional development
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running of the nursery in the Manager's absence
- Deputise the management whilst ensuring the nursery is suitably staffed
- Deliver the highest quality childcare for all children whilst maximising parent satisfaction
- Lead by example, challenge and support staff to realise and achieve their true potential
- Carry out all SEN provision within the nursery and complete the necessary paperwork
- Safeguard children at all times
