Responsibilities:
- To liaise with staff prior to sessions to ensure plans are appropriate and all needs and expectations are met.
- Plan and prepare engaging individual instrumental lessons.
- Teach and deliver individual/small group music sessions and activities, ensuring effective learning takes place and students make excellent progress.
- Provide feedback and give advice on student performance and skills.
- Research good practice of innovative and successful instrumental teaching.
- Prepare students for performances, examinations and auditions, as appropriate.
- Work with students to use music as a means of personal and social development.
- Act as a music and learning role model, gaining the trust and respect of the people you work with.
- Communicate positively and warmly with the Head of School, music teachers and other teaching staff, as well as students and parents, as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in school concerts, performances, events and assemblies when required and relevant.
- Contribute to whole school house music events throughout the year.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities which may be required from time to time.
- Ensure you adhere to health and safety standards and work within school safeguarding requirements.
