Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Chief Geophysicist revolve around developing and promoting the technical capabilities of the company. Talking and marketing to potential clients is an important aspect of the job. This is a commercial role working with Product Development & Sales to project the company’s technical competence to clients, demonstrating the ability to undertake each project successfully and more innovatively than competitors. It is essential to have extensive seismic acquisition experience.
The Role: This is a wide-ranging lead role, mixing commercial responsibilities and management of the geophysics team, as well as hands-on design engineering. You will have full lifecycle responsibility for seismic – acquisition, processing, and interpretation at a senior level in the Oil and Gas sector. You will be tasked with leading a team in London and developing new products for Seismic Design Engineering, overseeing the design of field tests with clients from design to interpretation.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of the three facets of geophysics: acquisition, processing, and interpretation, and the ways in which they interact and affect each other.
- Degree in Geophysics.
- Experience in O&G, seismic acquisition, seismic imaging, and processing.
- Land + transition zone, marine, and seabed seismic acquisition.
- Familiarity with acquisition technologies - recording systems and source technologies.
