We are looking for a Leading EV Engineer with technical vision, commercial strategy, drive and energy to lead, motivate, and inspire a team to constantly improve its position within a new exciting economy. To lead this team it will require a background in electro-mechanical drive solutions. Complete design and analysis of electro-mechanical systems, systems integration, electrical machine design and analysis and controls. Clients include OEMs & Suppliers worldwide in Automotive, Rail & Renewable Energy.
We are looking for someone with vision to lead, inspire, innovate and disrupt. Must have strong background in Automotive – ideally EV.
The role
Technology Leader for design, development & delivery of innovative world class electro-mechanical drive solutions. Provide both Technical Vision and Commercial Strategy to drive business forward. This is a wide ranging global strategic role with focus on growing the EV business. Role requires a strong innovative engineer who can lead and shape the direction of the company.
Main Responsibilities
- Expand solutions on offer & leverage current offerings
- Deliver design IP for electro mechanical systems – drive & power systems, controls, electrical systems, electric motors, gearboxes
- Devise a Technical roadmap for Electro-mechanical consultancy and software providing a competitive edge predominately with vehicle e-drive technology.
- IP management Management – cross functional including: Systems & Controls, Project Management, Commercial/ Business Development/ Marketing/ Sales Support
- Strategic Key Account management responsibility
- Strategic partnerships and joint ventures. See bigger picture as well as finer details - strategic direction and project challenges.
Candidate attributes:
- Strong technical manager with drive and energy & focused on achieving business results.
- Extremely flexible and resourceful in managing change to successfully develop companies’ potential and markets.
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background – ideally in Automotive or similar
- MEng (2:1 or higher) Mechanical / Electrical engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Automotive – ideally Hybrid/ Electric Vehicle
- Design of electro mechanical systems – any of: transmission, powertrain, drive & power systems, controls, electrical systems, electric motors, gearboxes, systems integration.
- Demonstrated global, multi-disciplined project team management experience
- Key account management & preferably business development
- Possess the technical vision and commercial strategy to leverage /spring-board business growth opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding client requirements and be able to explain complex technical material
- Good business understanding and focus
- Highly driven and self-motivated with an ability to deliver results within tight deadlines.
Preferable
- 8+ years in a technology environment ideally from combined product & service business
- Further Degree /Professional qualification
- Experience in China &/ India
- Commercial acumen: Business Development, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, NPI
This is a senior Role for Experienced Engineers with background in Electric or Mechanical design for the Automotive sector. With experience at a Strategic level and have track record using projects for business growth. And able to work with C-level executives.
