A Structural Design Engineer with the ability to code using Python is required for the new design of Offshore Renewables. This role involves being the lead programmer for software tools for a Global Offshore Renewable Engineering Company.
THE COMPANY: Specialist engineers in the renewable energy sector – offshore wind, tidal, wave, marine. A fast-growing, innovative and exciting renewable company that offers excellent chances for technical and personal development.
The Role:
- Lead programmer for a new software tool for offshore wind, focusing on the development of offshore wind turbine foundations concept design tool.
- Experience with coding in Matlab, Python or similar (C++ / C# / Java) is essential.
- Involvement in foundations and steel design for offshore wind turbines, including stress, FE, loads modelling, and complete design of large offshore foundations such as Jackets, Monopiles, and steel towers.
- Support from experienced offshore structural engineers will be provided to help shape the direction of the development.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering degree.
- Experienced programmer using Matlab and/or Python.
- Structural engineering experience, ideally in Offshore.
Advantageous Experience:
- Offshore engineering experience, ideally in Wind.
- Familiarity with DNV’s SESAM-GENIE.
- Understanding of dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundations (Jackets / Monopiles / Floating).
- Experience with Steel Structures, e.g., Steel towers.
- Knowledge of Geotechnical aspects.
It is essential to have good object-oriented coding skills along with structural engineering experience. Our client has an excellent attitude towards ongoing personal development, training, and development. This is a permanent role based in the UK.
